BSP designated as NEMO in Slovenia
On 21 December 2015, the Slovenian Power Exchange BSP has been designated by the Energy Agency as a Nominated Electricity Market Operator (hereinafter: NEMO) for a period of 4 years, in order to perform the single day-ahead and intraday coupling within the territory of the Republic of Slovenia.
In accordance with Article 4 of the Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/1222 of 24 July 2015 establishing a guideline on capacity allocation and congestion management (hereinafter: CACM Regulation) each EU member state electrically connected to a bidding zone in another member stated is obliged to designate at least one NEMO to perform the single day-ahead and/or intraday coupling.
Accordingly, Energy Agency published on 29 September 2015 the Invitation for NEMO designation. BSP submitted application for NEMO designation, based on which the Energy Agency concluded that BSP complied with the requirements set forth in CACM Regulation for the designation as a NEMO.
