BSP and MEMO Celebrate Go-Live of North Macedonia’s Intraday Electricity Market
06.05.2026

Today marks a significant milestone for the North Macedonian electricity market — the successful go-live of MEMO’s Intraday Electricity Market. This achievement represents an important step toward further integration into the European electricity market and strengthening the country’s market infrastructure.

As a proud partner in this project, BSP is honored to support MEMO in delivering this key development. The introduction of the intraday market enhances market flexibility, transparency, and efficiency, providing participants with the ability to adjust their trading positions closer to real time and better respond to market changes.

Intraday continuous trading plays an increasingly important role in modern electricity markets, particularly in the context of growing renewable energy generation. By enabling continuous trading throughout the day, the new market segment supports improved balancing, greater liquidity, and more efficient portfolio management.

The successful go-live reflects the strong collaboration between BSP, MEMO, and all involved stakeholders. It is the result of dedicated work, shared expertise, and a clear strategic vision for the development of the North Macedonian energy market.

As Anže Predovnik, CEO of BSP and Chairman of the Management Board of ADEX Group, highlighted at the launch event:
“Energy markets are not only about electricity. They are about connections — between systems, between countries, and between people. The joint efforts, the clear vision of the Government of North Macedonia, the dedication of the MEMO team, and our shared work have made this possible — the intraday electricity market in North Macedonia is now live. What lies ahead is integration into the single European market. Together, we will build a more connected and competitive future.”

This milestone builds on the successful development of the Day-Ahead Market and represents a crucial step toward deeper regional and European integration. BSP remains committed to supporting MEMO and the continued evolution of the market, contributing to a more connected, transparent, and competitive energy landscape.
