At this year’s Belgrade Energy Forum, Anže Predovnik, CEO of BSP and Chairman of the Management Board of ADEX, participated in the second panel discussion, focusing on the future of regional electricity market integration and the continued development of connected energy markets in Southeast Europe.
Following successful market coupling with all neighbouring countries, BSP achieved a major milestone through the establishment of the ADEX Group, which connects the Slovenian, Hungarian, and Serbian power exchanges under a unified “one-stop shop” model with harmonized rules for all market participants.
The integrated approach has already produced significant results, including a 25% increase in trading volumes to 66 TWh over the past two years and growth to more than 200 active market participants across the region.
During the discussion, Anže Predovnik also announced the next phase of expansion — Croatia. As part of the broader ADEX regional integration strategy, BSP is extending operations into the Croatian market across all three key market segments:
- Day-Ahead Market
- Intraday Auctions
- Intraday Continuous Market
The objective is to provide market participants with simplified and more efficient cross-border and multi-market access through a single unified setup within the ADEX Group. The go-live is planned for Q4 2026 or Q1 2027, subject to the completion of regulatory and operational milestones.
With partnerships already established in Montenegro and North Macedonia, ADEX today covers a significant part of the region using the same technological solutions, further strengthening regional integration and the efficiency of connected electricity markets.
