The coupling of the Slovenian and Croatian markets: A further step towards the integration of the european power markets

29 June 2017 - The Transmission System Operators ELES and HOPS and Power Exchanges BSP and CROPEX have in 2017 launched a dedicated project with support of both national regulators Energy Agency (Slovenia) and HERA (Croatia). The goal is to implement the European target model for day-ahead Capacity Allocation and Congestion Management on the Slovenian - Croatian border.

In January 2017 we have noticed record volumes compared to the January volumes in previous years on all trading segments that are available to BSP members. Especially active were traders on EUROPEAN PILOT PROJECT of Implicit Intraday Auctions MI2 & MI5, because they recognized the opportunity - possibility of closing deals that missed out during a Day-ahead auction.

BSP Southpool Records Volume Growth in All Segments in 2016!

2016 turned out to be a year of growth in volume figures on all trading segments. Total traded volume at BSP SouthPool on the Day-ahead market reached 6.567,23 GWh and on the Intraday market 489,25 GWh. Total volume for 2016 exceeded 7 TWh for the first time and reached 7.056,48 GWh.

BSP sponsor of En.trading 016 Seminar in Montenegro

En.trading 016 Seminar took place on the 1st of December in Montenegro. As a sponsor of the venue, we presented our own experience in establishing a liquid electricity market. For small countries like Slovenia and Montenegro, is definitely crucial to couple with a liquid neighbouring market. For BSP Southpool it resulted in an increase of yearly volume by 8-times from 0,2 TWh in 2010 to over 1,5 TWh in 2011 and now already substantially exceeds 6 TWh per year.
